Tips for Stress Reduction

Stress is in part caused by ineffective time management and lack of care for oneself. A person who knows how to juggle his/her activities and still have time for other things is one who can actually get the most work done and not blow up from all the pressure. To become more productive, here are simple tips for stress reduction.

·    Delegate
If you are working in a team, share the workload with the rest for effective stress reduction. It is only fair for everyone to work on their share of the duty. If the task is not so important, you can either eliminate it or set it aside to be worked on later. If the task is too large and you still have another thing to do, you can work on both at a time until you get them done.

·    Eat, sleep, and exercise
Do not skip any of the three meals of the day. Take naps, too, if you lack sleep. To keep fit and healthy, exercise. Take a break if you need to. Fresh ideas often come when we are not in full-battle mode.

·    Know your limit
Before you take on more loads, check if you still have time and resources for it. If you’re too swamped or busy, it is alright for you to decline the task.

·    Plan your day
Make a to-do list for the day ahead of you. Highlight important tasks so you don’t skip them or forget to do them. If you plan your day beforehand, going from place to place and jumping from one activity to another will be a whole lot easier than if you went with the day’s natural flow.

·    Prioritize
Spend more time on important tasks than you would on ones that can be put off for later. If you finish the big assignments ahead of time, you won’t be as stressed anymore.

·    Work on quality
Think quality over quantity. Do not rush your work. If you do, the product is likely to be erroneous, which means you will have to waste more time editing and changing it. It will also reflect better on you if you produce work that is correct, rather than submit many errors.

Putting too much pressure on yourself will not help you at all, but knowing how to reduce stress will help you cope with the pressure. All you have to do is manage your time well, and use your resources to your advantage.
